Pasadena Mid-Century Modern

Sacred Space Garden Design creates a Napa Valley-inspired rustic sanctuary with a view of the Pasadena foothills, where Mediterranean elements meet California native design.

Heading 6
Nestled in Pasadena's San Rafael Hills, this project captures the essence of Northern California wine country while embracing Southern California's Mediterranean climate. Sacred Space Garden Design crafted a seamless connection between the mid-century home and its natural surroundings, beginning with flagstone that gracefully wraps from the facade into expansive entertainment spaces.
A ground-level artist's studio opens directly onto thoughtfully designed gardens, where peaceful sitting areas frame stunning hill views through carefully considered native trees. The entertainment space features generous flagstone terraces surrounding an inviting fire pit, while architectural vessels reminiscent of Mediterranean olive oil urns add authentic character throughout the landscape.
Drought tolerant succulents and Olive trees compliment the native majestic Oaks situated in their native hilltop setting, creating a sophisticated palette that thrives in Pasadena's climate. Crushed granite pathways wind through the property, while ground cover growing between flagstone pavers adds a natural touch to the elegant design, completing this personal sanctuary.
